Last week was special. Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the nomination to become our next President and altered history. I can’t recall another time recently, except perhaps for the Olympics, when I was more glued to my TV. I was addicted and hungrily watched the telecast each night.

As I giddily watched, I realized for me the “specialness” was seeing, feeling, and being guided by female leadership.  Female Governors, Congresswomen, Attorney Generals, Senators, and others gave rousing speeches. It felt like a common string of power and unabashed excellence connected these women. The commonality was that they all exuded a new way of leading, seeing the world from a different perspective.

Of all the speakers, the ones that resonated with me the most were Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Former First Lady Michelle Obama, and, of course, Oprah. I adored observing the beauty, power, strategy, and deep intellect of female leadership on full display. I think it’s what our country desperately needs now. A new vision and approach.
