It’s unfathomable that in 2024 this can still occur; the unjustified killing of a black woman in her own home.  I suspect my sense of exasperation and pain that police brutality of black women has not stopped is shared by many. 

Massey called police for help because she thought an intruder had broken into her Illinois home. Yet, it was she who lost her life, shot to death at close range by two police officers.

The Sangamon County State’s Attorney, John Milhiser, found that the officer’s use of deadly force was unjustified. And Vice President Kamala Harris condemned this killing and called the Massey family today to offer condolences.
